The return of Meditation wines in Jerez

The world of noble wines meet again in Jerez in the mystical setting of the Alcázar, a fascinating location for staging a universe of flavours, aromas and textures that reflect the diversity and richness that Meditation Wines gift us winelovers around the world.

Thus the International Exhibition of Noble, Generous and Liqueur Wines (Vinoble) was born, out of need to distinguish those great meditation wines from international wine fairs, which went unnoticed due to the strong presence of younger and at times more commercial wines.

12th edition Vinoble – May 2024

Vinoble in its 12th edition is a biennial event celebrated in Jerez, Spain highlights the great fortified and sweet wines of the world. Chaired by the President of the Jerez Regulatory Council, César Saldaña, “Vinoble is a wonderful opportunity to savor these treasures.” biological aged wines from Marco de Jerez, from Montilla , Málaga or Huelva; from Alicante, Valencia and Navarra, the historic Malvasías from the Canary Islands or the sweet Catalan wines, from Priorato or Terra Alta, as well as those from Rueda or Toro will be just some of the national wines represented in this edition of Vinoble. Added to this are the very wide range of international wines from Portugal, the Sauternes, Barsac or the Loire wines, in France, the historic Tokaj from Hungary or the Auslese, Beerenauslese and Trockenbeerenauslese from Germany, among others.

Vinoble 2024 will have sixty-three stands from eleven different countries, eight hundred wine references and the visit of eight thousand attendees from twenty-five countries is expected in the best global showcase for the promotion of our wines and the perfect setting on which all eyes will be concentrated. of winemakers, restaurateurs, journalists, sommeliers and all types of industry professionals, without a doubt, the ideal context for bringing such special wines into relevance in a brilliant city lives and breathes for elevating the world’s wine culture. ¡Jerez que grande eres!

The Grand Venice Tasting – La Gran Venecia

As a formidable closure to Vinoble 2024, and in keeping with the suspense, it will be a precise focus on Venice and in its role in the propagation of wine culture which will enable Cyprus to add to the wisdom of the wine world perpetuated by its Commandaria.

Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella della Solidarietà Italiana and Member of L’académie International du Vin, author, wine erudite and wine director of Vinoble 2024, Juancho Asenjo will direct the last tasting of wines that will have as common thread the grand Venice, which includes Commandaria which undoubtedly marked an epoc during the venitian rule and so well captured by history.

It goes without saying that in the 35 years of profession as scholar and writer, Mr Asenjo has always seen Commandaria as a wine to inspire his colleagues and students, and for which he could well be recognised in Spain as its best subscriber and known to have exhausted stocks of wines from LaVinia and Grau – sole online outlets carrying the little Commandaria that makes it out in western Europe.
