Discovering one’s innate ability to succeed, to explore the path of viable solutions surging from research and business, to grow opportunities within the Agri-Food sector, is all within the scope of building one’s confidence and contributing with solutions to the challenges of our time.
As entrepreneurship is a key driver of innovation and rethinking growth, women have an unprecedented opportunity, with the aim and support of EIT FOOD to respond to the increasing number of European citizens expressing the desire to launch their own businesses.
EIF Food’s objective is to “future proof” the food system, which includes building an inclusive and innovative community to “foster innovation at all stages of business creation”. Part of EIT Food’s inclusivity goals include supporting female entrepreneurs through education, network building, and dedicated programme resources- that is EWA- Empowering Women in Agrifood mission.
The EWA Pitch Sessions in Cyprus is an opportunity to unlock paths of discovery from research to entrepreneurship led by women in a sector that has much to evolve. In Cyprus are led by the Cyprus University of Technology and the EIT Food Cyprus, they represent the fruit of months of mentoring women researchers and entrepreneurs, to explore ideas and business solutions for specific challenges in Agrifood.
